Abstract

Regenerated celluloses, dyeing; disazo dyes.-Regenerated cellulose silk is dyed in even violet to blue shades with the secondary disazo dyes p-aminoazo compound --> 1 : 5 : 7-acid or an N-substituted derivative thereof (alkaline). The aminoazo compound may be substituted by sulphonic, carboxy, alkyl, halogen or nitro groups. In examples the following dyestuffs are specified: (1) aniline --> a -naphthylamine-6- and 7-sulphonic acids --> 1 : 5 : 7-acid (greenish-blue), (2) aminosalicylic acid --> a -naphthylamine --> N-benzoyl-1 : 5 : 7-acid (navy blue), (3) p-nitraniline-o-sulphonic acid --> m-amino-p-cresol methyl ether --> 1 : 5 : 7 acid (greenish-blue), (4) p-aminoazobenzene-p1-sulphonic acid --> 1 : 5 : 7-acid (violet brown), (5) p-nitroaniline --> cleves acid --> 1 : 5 : 7-acid (navy blue), (6 2-naphthylamine-4 : 8-disulphonic acid --> m-amino-p-cresol methylether --> 1 : 5 : 7-acid (navy blue).
