340,446. Vacuum cleaning-apparatus. GROEVE, J. DE, 170, Hundelgemsche Steenweg, Ledeberg, and DYCK, C. VAN, 23, Richardstraat, Antwerp, both in Belgium. Feb. 27, 1930, No. 6506. [Class 8 (i).] A suction device for cleaning sacks comprises funnels 1 in which the sacks are placed within a cage formed of rods 10, the funnels being connected by branch pipes 3 to a fan 2 which delivers the dust-laden air from the funnels to a dust collector 5 through a tangential inlet. The dust collector is closed at the bottom by a sack &c. to receive deposited dust ; the lighter particles pass to a further chamber 8. The sacks are introduced into the funnels through doors 9 and are prevented by screens from passing into the pipes 3. A pipe 12 connected with the fan transmits vacuum through a hose to carpet cleaning or like apparatus.
