339,985. Briquetting & Carbonising Syndicate, Ltd., and Goskar, T. A. Sept. 17, 1929. Firelighters are composed of finely divided coke, coal &c. mixed with comminuted peat and pugged and moulded into briquettes. Sawdust or paper pulp may be added, and the peat may be treated with silicate of soda before milling. The briquettes are subsequently dipped in a bath of paraffin wax, resin and paraffin oil. For the latter operation, the briquettes may be laid in trays having arched perforate bottoms and stacked in a frame to facilitate drying, immersion and subsequent cooling.
