339,875. Naamlooze Vennootschap de Bataafsche Petroleum Maatschappij. March 11, 1929, [Convention date]. Catalytic material for use in the destructive hydrogenation of carbonaceous materials comprises simultaneously precipitated iron and aluminium oxides, which may contain water. An aqueous solution of aluminium chloride is mixed with a solution of ferric chloride in dilute hydrochloric acid and precipitated with excess of ammonia. The washed precipitate is dried at 150‹ C. until it contains 10-12 per cent of water. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes also catalysts consisting of mixtures of two or more metals or metal compounds. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
