Abstract

339,435. Bosch Akt.-Ges., R. Dec. 13, 1928, [Convention date]. Fluid-pressure.-The control means for vehicle servo brake mechanism is mounted in a holder which is adjustably fitted to a lever connected to the brakes. As shown in Fig 1, the upper part of the usual pedal lever 1 connected to the brakes by the cable 3 and with the brake piston by rod 2, is cut off and a holder 4 carrying the control valve is secured to the lever by a clamp, adjustment being obtained by notches 5. The holder 4 carries a spring-pressed foot-plate 6 which by means of a rod 8 and spring 10 operates a valve 11 controlling the connection of the brake cylinder pipe 15 with a pressure or vacuum pipe 14 and with the atmosphere port 25. In a modification, the valve is electrically controlled and mounted on the brake cylinder and the rod 8 is arranged to bridge a pair of contacts mounted in the holder 4 and connected respectively to the valve magnet and to the battery. The brake piston is in this case connected by a cable to the end of the holder 4.
