Abstract

338,974. Kent, A. F. S. Aug. 30, 1929. Diaphragms.-A conical or similar non-flat diaphragm B is affixed to a continuous sheet of material A, e.g. casement cloth, so that the weight of every portion of the diaphragm is supported by the mounting material and not by the substance of the diaphragm itself, the material being of such a character that it does not act as a diaphragm to any substantial extent. The edge of the diaphragm may be serrated or scalloped. According to the first Provisional Specification, the diaphragm may vary in thickness, while according to the second Provisional Specification, the diaphragm may be strengthened by ribs and slots may be cut in the diaphragm and covered with either thick or thin material.
