Abstract

338,813. Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Co. Feb, 6, 1929, [Convention date]. Addition to 338,447. Refrigerators, domestic and like.-A refrigerator cabinet 11 of the kind described in the parent Specification, is provided with a fixed interior lining 13 and a movable top 14, sliding in guides 15 and carrying a compressor 17 condenser 18, and evaporator 20 with connections 21 and 22 arranged so that the refrigerating unit can be withdrawn from the cabinet without disturbing the lining. The lining is provided with recesses 33 and 34 through which connections 21 and 22 pass from the wall 14 to the evaporator in the refrigerated space. The wall 14 carries a rubber gasket 43 which forms a seal with the lining which itself is provided with a rubber gasket 35 at its front edge. The apparatus is held in position by a strip 36 provided with a rubber gasket 42 and secured by bolts 40 at its ends entering holes 41 at the end of guides 15. Through connection 21 pass pipes 26 and 27 connecting the evaporator with the condenser and compressor while through connection 22 pass leads 30 from a thermostat in the evaporator to the motor switch 31. A movable cover may be placed on top of the cabinet over the exposed mechanism.
