Aerostats. - Rigid airships have bulkheads under initial tension connected by radially extensible connections to the frame rings. In the example, shown each bulkhead netting 10 is secured at points around its circumference by springs 17 to the corners of the corresponding frame ring 12. The springs 17 may be tension springs or compression springs arranged in cylinders. Alternatively, cord connections which may be untied and extended may be used. The extensible connections may be arranged around the whole circumference of the ring or only on the lower portion.
