Control mechanism.-A control device for motor and other cycles comprises a twist-grip c rotatably mounted on the handle-bar b, a clip or collar e at one end of the grip for securing one end of a Bowden wire or like cable f, a clip g at the other end of the grip for securing the sheath h, and means,' such as a lining d on the inside of the grip having a curved edge or shoulder d<1>, for deforming or deflecting the intermediate part f<1> of the wire so as to give the wire its sliding movement relatively to the sheath. The clips e, g are provided with extensions e<1>, g' formed with curved edges or shoulders to co-operate with the wire during deflection. A friction washer may be interposed between one or each end of the rotary grip and the adjacent olip. On the inner end of the grip is adjustably secured a thumb-lever i provided with a lateral projection i<1> serving as a stop by engaging a lug on the clip g. The wire is initially adjusted by rotational adjustment of the clip e on the handlebar, and adjustment may also be made by moving the clip g, or the lever i, or both.
