Abstract

668,606. Twist-grip controls. ATELIERS DE LA MOTOBECANE. July 20, 1950 [Aug. 9, 1949], No. 18167/50. Class 136 (i). A twist-grip control for two or more devices comprises at least two rotatable sleeves 2, 6 which have interengageable parts 4, 5 so arranged that the sleeve 2 moves independently at first and then engages the sleeve 6 so that they rotate together. The sleeves are mounted on a cycle handle-bar 1, the sleeve 2 serving as a handle and being connected by means of a Bowden cable 18 to a throttle and the sleeve 6 by a cable 13 to a decompressor. The sleeves have slots 7, 15 respectively, through which extend projections 8, 16 fixed to the handle-bar 1. The projections serve to limit the rotational movement of the sleeves and also to anchor the casings 14, 19 of the cables 13, 18 which are connected at 12, 17 to the sleeves. The sleeve 2 is a frictional fit on the handle-bar 1 so that it will stay in any position to which it is moved. The sleeve 6 is freely rotatable and is urged in an anticlockwise direction. as seen in Fig. 2, by a spring connected to the cable 13.
