Cements; concretes and mortars.-A cement for use as a binder in hydraulic mortar comprises 50 parts by weight of water glass of 25‹ B6. and 100 parts of a mixture of finely ground slag and burnt magnesite in which the slag predominates. In an example, the slag and magnesite mixture comprises 92 parts of slag and 8 parts of magnesite. A mortar may be made by adding one part by weight of the slag and magnesite mixture to three parts of fine aggregate, e.g. sand, and gauging with the water glass solution.
