Abstract

338,590. Fochler, A. Aug. 22, 1929 Aeroplanes; machines supported by direct fluid - pressure apparatus; p l a n e s , arrangement of; propelling; regulating altitude. - A flying machine comprises a number of supporting planes b arranged one behind the other, each plane having an elevator d hinged on an axis transverse of the. machine and a propelling airscrew c, the planes and the elevators being so arranged that the slipstreams of the airscrews are directed against the undersides of the planes when the elevators are turned downwardly to obtain vertical ascent. The elevators d may be in one or several sections, each being controlled individually ; alternatively all may be operated from a common control.
