343,763. Aircraft launching and landing ways. BEAUCAIRE, R., 36 bis, Rue Jouffroy, Paris. March 3, 1930, No. 6925. Convention date, March 2, 1929. [Class 4.] To facilitate the launching or landing of an aircraft in a small space such as a ship's deck, a blast of air is directed against the machine in a direction opposed to the direction of flight. To ensure that the machine has sufficient flying speed to prevent it from realighting after passing out of the region of the blast it may be launched by a catapult device or it may be run down a slope 2 towards the blast of air produced by nozzles 1. For landing, the aircraft may alight at the foot of a sloping run as well as being subjected to an opposing blast. The direction ofthe blast may be indicated by a beam of light.
