Abstract

494,070. Roundabouts. GRECOURT, L. E. Feb. 18, 1938, No. 5126. Convention date, Feb. 20, 1937. [Class 132 (i)] In a roundabout comprising central mechanism 1 imparting a common rotary movement to a number of aeroplanes 12, the latter are each supported on its own individual arm 6 and can independently move upwards and downwards and tilt under the positive control of means under the control of the occupant and independent of the action of air on wing or rudder surfaces. The arms 6 are secured to a ring 4 running on an annular platform 2. The aeroplanes are pivotally mounted on the ends of the arms and are tilted by wires connected to the arms and controlled by levers operated by the occupants. Each aeroplane carries two mercury switches which, when the nose of the machine is dipped or raised, start a motor pump 23 which actuates a hydraulic jack 25 connected to a cable 27 for moving the arm and raising or lowering the aeroplane.
