Ornamenting.-A decorative effect may be produced by the app1ication of transparent colours to a ref1ecting surface which has previously been coated with a light-permeable matt varnish. The ref1ecting surface may be of sheet meta1 or paper coated with metal foil, and the colours may be applied by printing or otherwise ; different thicknesses of varnish may be employed in accordance with the amount of reflection required, and opaque colours may be used on addition to the transparent ones.
