337,944. N. C. W. Paint & Varnish Remover Co., Ltd., and Bonnar, T. K. Oct. 19, 1929. Paints, removing.-A paint-remover consists of a mixture of calcium carbonate, soap, sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate, hypo sulphite of soda (sodium thiosulphate), ammonia and water. The material is prepared by covering quick lime with soft soap and water, stirring the mixture and then adding in sequence soda ash (sodium carbonate), ammonium carbonate and hyposulphite of soda. Suitable proportions of these substances are given.
