Refrigerating, absorption machinecs for; refrigerators, domestic.-Apparatus adapted for table use and working on the reversing system and without valves comprises cylindrical vessels 10, 2 forming respectively the generator-absorber and the condenser-evaporator connected by a single pipe 3 which first extends from the lower end of the generator-absorber at right-angles thereto, then upwardly at 13 parallel to the axes of the two vessels, and then horizontally at 23 at an angle of 30‹ to the top of the condenserevaporator. A strut 19 connects the pipe 13 with the vessel 10. In use, the vessel 10 is first placed horizontally in a hot water bath for generating the refrigerant, and the vessel 2 in a cold water tank. The apparatus is then fitted to a cabinet having a top door 14, as shown, the part 23 of the pipe 3 resting in a notch 17 in a side wall closed by a plug 16, and the vessel 10 is cooled by a water bath during the absorption period. The vessel 2 is formed with a central opening 8 and is placed in an ice mould 6 in the cabinet adjacent a set of shelves or trays 12 mounted in a removable frame 11. The refrigerating apparatus has only one charging plug 9 and when not in use may be packed inside the cabinet.
