Abstract

337,897. Higginson, J. Sept. 14, 1929. Road-traffic signals on vehicles. - Direction signals h, i on road-vehicles are selectively actuated by turning the handle n of an electric switch to left or right, thus bringing a spring contact p or q against contact rings d, e, f secured to the steering column a, the handle n being reset by the return movement of the steering-wheel. The spindle m of the switch n is mounted in a ring j secured to the boss of the steering-wheel, so that as the latter is turned, further movement of the handle n is limited by stops u, t, while the return movement of the steering-wheel causes the engaging spring contact p or q to roll on the contact rings and restore the handle n to its neutral position. A modified open form of the spring p, q is described.
