337,689. Bamag-Meguin Akt.-Ges. July 5, 1929, [Convention date]. Tipping carts.-A tipping- device for vehicle bodies comprises a frame 1 suspended from the chassis 3 of the vehicle and carrying a horizontal screwed spindle 4 housed in a cage 5 which actuates, by means of a nut 6 slidable on the spindle, traction ropes 7 through which a lifting-device consisting of a lever 11 and links 9a, 9b, 9c, 10 is thrust against the vehicle body 16 to tip it. The links differ in length in order to obtain uniform leverage and the corners of the links 9c, 9b, 9a bear against the edges of their preceding links to support them in succession. The spindle 4 is driven by a rope 28 acting through a ratchet mechanism, the rope being connected to a crank on auxiliary mechanism of the engine of the tractor, so that tipping is effected solely by the oscillatory motion of the rope 28 which motion is communicated to the truck body. A spring drum 27 on the spindle keeps the rope 28 in tension.
