Controlling superheat. - In a gas-producer furnace for directly heating steam boilers, the upper part of the boiler tubes 29 is surrounded by a steam superheater 41 which is vertically adjustable to vary the degree of superheat. The superheater may be supported on either of the ledges 44, 44a on the wall of the producer.
