337,124. Leyland Motors, Ltd., and Harrison, J. Sept. 9, 1929. Emergency exits; steps.-Emergency exits for the upper decks of vehicles comprise a door or the like together with a ladder, staircase or ramp. As shown in Fig. 3 the door is in two parts, a lower part 3 being hinged horizontally and carrying a staircase or ladder 5 which is foldable on to the door and an upper part 4 hinged vertically and connected by a stay 6 to the lower part which when open forms a landing. In a modification the door may be hinged vertically and may carry a folding or telescopic ladder. In another form the door 14, Fig. 8, may be hinged about its lower edge and when lowered discloses steps or rings 15 disposed on its inner face which together with similar rungs 16 in the vehicle side complete the exit means.
