Abstract

336,833. Royal Typewriter Co., Inc., (Assignees of Hart, H. J.). Nov. 23, 1928, [Convention date]. Type-lever actions.- In actions comprising an intermediate lever connected to a type-lever by a link arranged to move equal distances above and below the horizontal when the type - lever segment is shifted, means is provided for adjusting vertically the intermediate lever to ensure the above-mentioned arrangement and thereby prevent the type-lever from being lifted or forced against the typelever rest. The Figure shows part of the action described in Specification 277,627 and comprising an intermediate lever 13 connected to a. type-lever by a link 21 which moves equal distances above and below the horizontal when the type-lever segment is shifted. The pivot rod 24 of the set of intermediate levers is now mounted on a vertically adjustable bracket 29 having slotted arms 25 which are secured by screws 32 to the support 12 for the key-levers F. The bracket is maintained in the horizontal position by means of pins or keys 37 on the support and co-operating grooves in the arms, or by co-operation of the arms with shoulders on the support. The bracket may be provided with adjusting-means such as screws 40 threaded into the support and mounted in extensions 39 of the arms. The type-lever segment may be associated with the shift mechanism described in Specification 298,569.
