Abstract

336,494. Krautzberger, A,. Jan. 10, 1929, [Convention date]. Air-pressure sprayers; liquid supply.-Apparatus for projecting or spraying paint, tar, binding, cleansing or solvent materials is supplied with such material under pressure through a flexible conduit 17. 18 in a quantity in excess of that required to be sprayed so that it is continuously circulated within the nozzle in order to prevent congelation or deposition of material. The direction of flow of liquid may be reversed by a cock 6 in order to clean the nozzle. The nozzle comprises a chamber 8 in which the liquid is circulated, containing a strainer 11 and provided with an outlet jet regulated by a needle valve 19. When air atomization is employed the air is supplied by a tube 12 leading to a chamber 14 in the nozzle head provided with converging air nozzles 13 Liquid may be pumped to a number of such sprayers connected in series through flexible tubes around which may be mounted air tubes through which hot compressed air is pumped to the sprayers.
