Two-part couplings. - Relates to electric igniters, particularly for use on vehicles, in which a part 2 carrying a resistance wire 23 is adapted to be pressed towards a fixed part 1 for closing the circuit and then removed for use. In the form shown, the part 2 is provided with a bent annular spring contact 31 adapted to engage a contact 5 and thereby separate the other pair of contacts 19, 6. The contact 31 may be replaced by one or more spring contacts of plate or coiled form. In a second form, the contact 31 is replaced by a non-resilient contact normally separated from the contact 5 by a spring connecting the contacts 6, 19, the spring being mounted in a recess in the contact 19. The part 2 is mounted in a clip 10 on the part 1. One end of the resistance coil 23 is connected by a screw 22 to the contact 19 and the other end to a dished plate 25 engaging a ring 29 connected by screws or bolts 32 to the contact 31. The contacts 5, 6 may be connected by screws to plug members 7 or the screws may extend through moulded legs on the back of the part 1, the legs being fitted in holes in the dashboard.
