336,231. Pinkert, A., Wawrzynowicz, F., and Wiesinger, P., (trading as Rathenower Brillen-Industrie Alpira). May 22, 1929, [Convention date]. Spectacles.-Side wires comprising two parts relatively adjustable to vary the length of the sides are constructed with one of the adjustable parts carrying a separately formed resilient member arranged to be pressed by a clamping device against the other part to lock them together. The side wire consists of a tubular member 10 threaded to take a nut 20 having an internal conical surface 21 and a sliding portion 14. To the member 10 is fitted a spring blade 15 adapted to bear on a flat on the sliding portion 14 and on the surface 21 on the nut 20. A hook 16 on the spring blade 15 engages a hole in the member 10. By screwing the nut 20 to the member 10 the wedge-shaped portion of the blade 15 is pressed against the part 14 and clamps it in position. Specification 324,257 is referred to.
