Abstract

336,133. Harrison, J. B. Nov. 12, 1929. Accessories.-A rear mirror for attachment to the peak of a cap or the brim of a hat or helmet comprises a circular mirror, speculum or reflector held within a circular frame provided with a retaining ring to facilitate replacement of a damaged mirror, the frame being secured to a clip or clasp adapted to engage the rim of the headgear by an arm so arranged that the mirror may be positioned some two and a quarter inches in front of and some two and a half inches to the outer side of the adjacent eye of the wearer. A rubber ring may encircle the mirror, which is housed in a circular frame h and retained by an annulus f of I-section. The clip may comprise parallel spirals a, Fig. 1, of wire integral with an arm engaging loops i pressed out of the back of the frame. Alternatively, the clip may comprise a U-shaped member, Fig. 9, having a spring tongue n operated by a right-angled lever l. In this case, the arm d<1> may be integral with the frame h<1>.
