335,116. Payne, B. A., and Kingston, E. G. Nov. 25, 1929. Laminated springs.-An end mounting for vehicle leaf springs comprises a pin 13 supported by lugs on a bracket 10 and carrying an eccentric sheave 19 closely fitting a hand liner 18 inside an eye 17 formed on the end of the spring 16, which bears against a cam-shaped surface 20 ou the bracket 10 so that flexion of the spring automatically varies the position of the area of contact. Between its cheeks the sheave is hollowed to form a crescent-shaped cavity 23 which may be filled with grease by means of a longitudinal bore 25 and a transverse bore 26 in the pin 13, the bore 26 connecting the bore 25 with the conduit 24 through an annular groove 30. Lubricant-retaining grooves 28, extend around the bearing surfaces of the cheeks. Specification 186,247 is referred to.
