Abstract
190,399. Gandolfo, M., and Rocca, A. March 14, 1922. Vibration-dampers. -In a vibrationdamper for vehicles comprising two levers pivotally connected together by a controlled friction device, one of the levers being secured to the frame and the other to the axle, fibre friction-discs 3 are secured to the ends 4, 5 of the levers 1, 2 and a metal disc 12 is loosely mounted between them, an annlar chamber 6 for lubricant being provided. The ends 4, 5 are pressed together by a bolt 16 and nut 9 which act through cup-shaped springs 23, a fibre disc 22 and a metal washer 7. The metal washer 7 is keyed at 7<1> in a longitudinal groove 21 in the bolt 16, the groove supplying lubricant to the disc 22. Holes 24 connect the central disc 12 with the chambers 6. To allow for lateral displacement of the vehicle parts, the lever 2 is formed of three springs, the outer ones 2' having a narrow central portion and the inner one 2<11> a central slot 2<111>.
