Walls.- In a furnace wall of the kind described in Specification 297,094 having a fluid-cooled panel 10, Fig. 2, formed of blocks carried by pipes 11 connected to headers, one or more fluid-cooled pipes 14 are provided on the wall 8 to form an overhanging shoulder for preventing the flow of molten slag down the wall. The pipe or pipes 14 may be connected at their ends to headers.
