P r essure - regulating valves.-In a gas pressure regulator in which the valve, such as g, is carried by a pair of diaphragms d, f of which the smaller is exposed to the supply pressure and the larger to the outlet pressure, the total effective passage area up to the valve member is not reduced substantially relatively to the cross sectional area of the supply pipe a. In the arrangement shown, the conduit about the valve is enlarged and provided with ribs or webs b to carry a flat plate, or a hollow conical member, forming a. valve seat for the tubular lift valve member g. The valve seat may be covered with leather or other packing material c<2>, and the valve member may be adjustably supported in its carrier by screw action.
