Abstract
334,525. Loozen, F. Jan. 12, 1929, [Convention date]. Void [Publislted under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Wadding.-A cellulosic film or ribbon of great length is cut into the form of wadding suitable for spinning or wording. The film or ribbon prepared from a solution of viscose, cellulose acetate &c., after drying, if preferably wound into a coil having multiple layers upon a mandrel, and the end face of the coil then cut by one or more revolving blades, the coil or the blades or both being caused to advance towards each other. The coil may be caused to rotate in the opposite direction to the blades, or the latter may be stationary. According to Fig. 1, the film 5 wound upon a mandrel 4 is cut into spiral threads when it is advanced by means of the threaded rod 2 against four knives 7 radially mounted upon a revolving disc 8. In Fig. 5, the knives 12 are secured to a rotating cylinder 13. A sharp rotating disc may. also be used for cutting the cellulosic film or ribbon.
