Abstract
334,188. Sp÷ttle, G. May 27, 1929. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Bodies.-In tubular frame bodies of motor vehicles the tube frame is open at the front and is closed by a wide shield to which the front wheels are fitted on vertical shafts, laminated springs being arranged on either side of the shield and the frame is composed of four longitudinal tubes which converge and are connected to the front shield. The frame comprises longitudinal tubes 1, 2, 3 with bracing tubes 2, 5 and transverse tubes 6, 7, 15. The lower tubes 3 are at the rear bent as shown at 3<a>, 3<b> and spaced tubes 5 are provided to give a clear opening for the rear axle 16. Certain of the transverse tubes 6 are prolonged as shown at @ to support the running boards, steps and mudguards. Adjacent the seating accommodation the frame is shown with upward extensions. The front of the frame converges towards the front axle and is connected to a shield 11 having side pillars or shafts 12 on which the axle bearings 13 slide under the control of transverse springs 14 arranged on either side of the shield 11.
