Abstract

333,701. Branczik, K. W. July 8, 1929. Nozzles for producing whirling sprays; materials, special, for.-In an atomizer more particularly for horticultural purposes or for use in cooling ponds the liquid is constrained to pass through a rising spiral path of gradually increasing radius and then into one of rapidly decreasing radius the latter path emerging into an orifice, Fig. 1 shows a form in which liquid is led through a rising spiral pipe 2 to a nozzle chamber 3 eccentric to the axes of the spiral and having a restricted outlet 4. Fig. 3 shows a form in which the liquid is supplied through a tube 7 into a base member 12 having a spirally rising groove 8 from whence it passes through an opening in a diaphragm 10 into a conical cap from whence it emerges through an orifice 9. The apparatus may be made of earthenware.
