Abstract

17,793. Andreas, E., and Wolf, F. E. July 26. Nozzles for producing whirling sprays. - Spray-producers, of the kind in which liquid flows tangentially into a chamber located behind the discharge orifice and made adjustable by a piston, are provided with means whereby the size of the cylindrical chamber may be adjusted without varying that orifice, and with tangential channels the sectional area of which does not exceed the area of the discharge orifice. Fig. 1 shows the device. The liquid enters the pipe a through the channel b, and by means of the tangential ports h in the tube g enters the bore i of the latter. The plug c, coned at the end to form a valve for the discharge orifice m, is adjusted by means of a screw e to regulate the capacity of the bore i.
