Mudguards; luggagecarriers; seat attachments.-A luggage-container for a motor cycle has a lower part or bottom constituted by a portion of the rear mudguard or conforming with the shape of the mudguard, and also has a hinged, slidable, or removable cover or lid that forms an upper support or carrier for a pillion seat, luggage, &c. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 6, the mudguard A has a container B secured to its edges and provided with side walls B<1> and a cover C, which is hinged at C<1> along one side and forms a support for a pillion seat E or for luggage. The pillion seat or other article is secured to the cover by means of one or more transverse bars F, Fig. 8, having hook-like ends F<1>, one of which enters a groove C<2> on one side of the cover, while the other end carries a thumbscrew F<3> provided with a loosely-mounted bearing-piece F<2> adapted to grip the other groove C<2>. The bars F are inserted in slots or pockets on the underside of the pillion seat &c. In a modification the cover or lid is of arched or channelshaped section to provide depending walls so disposed in relation to the mudguard that the containing space is formed between the mudguard and the cover or lid In a further form, the container is separable from the mudguard and has a curved bottom conforming with the shape of the mudguard. The rear end wall of the container may be provided with a lamp and with a registration plate. The container may be combined or associated with a similar container on which the driver's seat or saddle is mounted. The cover or lid of the container may be adapted to receive a pneumatic pillion seat, and may be so constructed as to permit of downward expansion of the pneumatic cushion or chamber of the seat in the manner described in Specification 302,425 and 330,566, [both in Class 136 (iii), Cycle &c., Kinds &c. of]. According to the Provisional Specification, the containers are applicable to the mudguards of vehicles other than motor cycles.
