Abstract

Bobbins &c., collecting and supplying to and removing from machines.-In a machine for winding or winding and doubling or twisting yarns or threads, or in a slubbing, intermediate or roving frame, ring spinning or doubling or like machine, a belt, chain or like conveyer y, Figs. 1 and 2 is provided with pegs on or around which ring-bobbins or other hollow bodies of yarn, thread or the like may be placed, and made to travel around, by or through the machine in order to facilitate the substitution of full supply bobbins for used bobbins and of new empty bobbins for wound receiving bobbins. The belt y passes round end pulleys i, x being driven from the pulley through a worm and worm-wheel k, j and provided with inside and outside guide-pulleys z, 3. Brackets 5 shaped to overlap the top edge are riveted to the belt and provided with pegs to carry bobbins 6. Guide rails 10, rabbetted at 11, are provided along the central portion of the belt. In the machine, as shown in Fig. 3, yarn is wound from ring bobbins 6 mounted on pegs 7 on a rail 8 on to bottle bobbins 9, an operator being stationed to remove empty bobbins from the pegs 5 and substitute full supply bobbins 6. Similarly a belt may be provided to facilitate the removal of full wound bobbins and the provision of new receiving bobbins. The belt y is driven continuously or intermittently as desired.
