Abstract

333,139. Herbert, Sir A., and Nicholls, W. Jan. 21, 1930. Turning.-Stop bars for use with lathe cross slides are so arranged that the co-operating abutment is on the opposite side of the stop bar to the cross slide. A selector stop bar 2 is mounted as shown in relation to the slide 3 and carries adjustable stops 6. The abutment 8 is pivotally mounted on an arm 9, secured to the cross slide by a shank 13 and pin 14, and extending across and above the stop bar. The abutment may be turned into the position shown by dotted lines; a spring pin 11 co-operatang with notches 12 and 15 to retain the abutment' in either the operative or inoperative position.
