Turning.-In a swivel toolpost the tool c is clamped in a member a having a lower surface which is curved both longitudinally and transversely of the tool and which coacts with a member b having a complementary upper surface so that the tool may be angularly adjusted in two planes at right angles to each other. The tool may be secured to the slide rest of a lathe bv means of a bar g clamped by a spherical washer f and nut e, the bar g coacting with a screw k which serves to adjust the tool in the transverse plane. The lower surface of the member b may be slightly inclined to enable the height of the tool to be adjusted.
