Abstract

Circulating or passing fluids through materials. - Apparatus for dyeing piece goods comprises two grid-like horizontal supporting members each composed of several rods or tubes C secured at their ends to a pair of transverse bars F supported by end frames A which are connected by longitudinal bars B adapted to carry transverse rods D for separating the material to be dyed into separate lots. The complete, frame is lowered into a dyebath K by means of handles A<1> and the dye liquor is agitated by admitting steam through a number of perforated pipes M in the bottom of the bath. The tubes C may be perforated and may be open at one or both ends and each may be surrounded by a sleeve of wire gauze or the like to permit even distribution of the liquor over the surface of the material. The bars F may be adjustable on the end frames A to relieve the tension on the material due to shrinkage.
