332,058. Merrick, W. A., and Frost, C. T. July 12, 1929. Paper bags; sacks.- A valve bag is provided with two passages. which may be formed as at i and j, one for inlet of material and the other for air escape. arranged in such a manner that the entering material cannot pass directly into the air - outlet passage. These passages are preferably formed as tubes, open at both ends, and arranged so that their inner ends overlap. They may be fitted to the folded-in corners of the bag as shown, the edges of the folded tubes being conveniently sewn to the upper edges by a line of stitches h through a strengthening piece f. In a modification, the two passages may be formed from one piece of material by folding upwardly and in oppositedirections two lateral extension pieces.
