Abstract

332,023. Newnes, J. June 14, 1929. Firebridges for boiier and other iurnaces comprise a hollow chamber c of metal or refractory material with openings d, d<1>, d<2> in the bottom front and top respectively, the opening d being controlled by a damper f actuated by a rod g fitted with a handle g<2> or with a suitable control operated by the door. Air from the ash-pit passes through the opening d and mixed with combustion products entering the hollow firebridge through the openings d' before passing through the openings d<2> to meet the gases passing over the top of the firebridge. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 20345/08, 461/11, 6231/11, 18304/11, and 10997/13
