Abstract
331,904. Dixon, H. E., (Bargeboer, A., and Machinefabriek Geb. Stork & Co.). April 4, 1929. Centrifugal and centripetal ejector and Sprengel pumps and condensers; casings.-In a liquid ring pump the side walls contain curved channels 13 leading portions of the liquid from the exterior of the liquid ring to the inner ends of the rotor cavities. The fluid being pumped enters the rotor cavities through a port 14 and is ejected through a port 15 into a chamber 4 and thence to an outlet 5. The inner surface of the liquid ring is stated to lie on the line 19. Make-up liquid flows from the chamber 4 through a front 16. In modifications the liquid ring rotates in a chamber which is concentric with the rotor but is constricted axially between the outlet and inlet fronts so as to cause the inner surface of the ring to surge inwards.
