Rope grips.-A haulage grip comprises a hooked plate b resting on the rope and a gripping jaw e' movable on the plate and guided by a pin m sliding in a slot n. The jaw e is clamped against the rope by a cam-lever f connected to the draught-eye k by a link j which slides in a slot h. The draught-eye is connected with the plate b by a second link i which slides in a slot d parallel with the rope. A ring l slides in the slot h and can lodge in recesses h<2>, h<3> at the ends of the slot. In the haulage position the ring l rests in the recess h<3> and locks the link j at the lower end of the slot. When the haulage rope is slack, the lever f falls to the vertical position but cannot pass beyond this position for detaching the grip from the rope unless the ring l is lifted out of the recess h<3>.
