Abstract

Point-tongues, mounting of.-Tramway pointtongues with an enlarged rounded heel mounted in a socket forming a pivot-bearing, are pressed against the rear of the socket by a ball or roller carried by an adjustable holder in front of the heel. In one form, Fig. 1, the ball 4 is carried by a holder 5 having a threaded stem 6 engaged by nuts 7 on either side of a bridge 8 secured to the box 10, or the nuts may engage a coil spring bearing against the box 10. In another form, Fig. 7, the holder 5 is bevelled and engaged by a wedge 15 pressed forwards by a bolt 12 and spring 14. Specification 118,645 is referred to.
