Abstract

330,961. Holloway, R. March 18, 1929. Fixing T-shaped handles by screwed sockets; grip, facilitating. - The tubular handle shaft 13 of a spade screws into a socket 12 integral with the blade 7, and is provided with a separate tubular handgrip 17 having a threaded socket 18 to screw on to the shaft. The lower surface of the hand-grip is curved as shown and has downwardlyturned projections 21 at the ends. Tubular rubber sheaths 22, 23 encase the shaft 13 and grip 17. In a modification the handle shaft is longer and the hand-grip 17 is dispensed with.
