Abstract
330,385. Superheater Co., Ltd., (Superheater Co.). May 16, 1929. Air and gas heating furnaces. - In a unitary tubular element of multiloop type for use in a fluid heater, the outlet portion loop or loops is or are formed of pipe having an internal diameter or cross-sectional area less than that of the rest of the piping. A steam superheater located between tube banks 1, 2 of a water tube boiler comprises an inlet header 14, an outlet header 16 and a number of multi-loop elements 17. Near to their outlet ends the elements are bifurcated, tubes 17<a>, 17b of smaller diameter. connecting the bifurcation with the outlet header. The combined crosssectional area of the tubes 17<a>, 17<b> may be less or greater than or equal to that of the tube 17. In another form the elements 17 are reduced in diameter for the last loop instead of being bifurcated. The tubes may be joined by the process described in Specifications 6304/15 and 120,042, [both in Class 99 (i), Pipes and tubes, Joints &c. for].
