Springs, arrangement of; frame construction.- In a three-wheeled vehicle in which the two front wheels are both steered and driven, the rear part of the frame consists of a central longitudinal tubular member of large diameter to the end of which is pivoted a radius rod carrying the rear or trailing wheel, the front end of the radius rod having fixed thereto a quarter-elliptic spring projecting into the tubular frame member and provided at its front end with a slipper which slidably engages the inside of the tube. The front wheels are driven bv transverse Cardan shafts 2 and are each connected bv four transverse quarter-elliptic springs 5 to the front end of the frame members 1, the rear ends of which are connected to the central tubular member 7. To the rear end of the tube 7 is secured a forked bracket 9 forming a pivotal mounting for the radius rod 12 which is offset to accommodate the wheel 14 in a central position on the vehicle. The wheel is detachably secured on an overhung axle 13, the arrangement being such that the three wheels of the vehicle are readily interchangeable. The radius rod 12 projects forwardly of its pivot and is there connected to a quarter elliptic spring 18 enclosed in the central tube 7, the front end of the spring being provided with a slipper 19 slidable in the tube. Frictional damping-means combined with the pivotal radius rod include friction discs 20 subjected to end thrust by a spring 21.
