Abstract

329,758. Law, L. W. March 27, 1929. Heating charge.-Heated air is supplied to a carburettor through a pipe a connected to a chamber b containing metal shavings or other non-inflammable material c in contact with the exhaust pipe e. The shavings are enclosed in a gauze case d secured to chamber b by springs f. The chamber is held against the exhaust pipe by spring clips g. In a modification the shavings or other material are replaced by a number of metal helical springs. The pipe b may be controlled by a valve between which and the carburettor a cold air inlet may be provided. Specifications 26407/03 and 10682/15 are referred to.
