328,833. Mannesmannr÷hren-Werke, and Rosdeck, F. May 30,1929. Forging; dies.-The upsetting of the ends of tubes is effected in a combined electric heating and upsetting device. When a mandrel is employed, the electrodes are in the form of twopart clamps c separated from the die a by insulating washers e. If an internal enlargement is required the mandrel is dispensed with. In a modification the heating is effected without the die a being in position. The die is then in two parts and is assembled after removal of the electrodes.
