Abstract
328,404. Bitetto, C. C. F. di. March 26, 1929. Hoods.-A road vehicle with front and rear seats and a windscreen is provided with a hood or top which is displaceable forwardly and rearwardly and adapted to uncover the front seats when it covers the front seats only the versa. As shown in Fig. 1 the rear part 2 of the hood is slidable on the body from the position shown to a position in which it covers the front seats only the front part of the hood being withdrawable into the rear part. The front part comprises a flexible cover 12, Fig. 5, rolled up in a housing 11 in the rear part of the hood which also carries arms 14, Fig. 4, hinged or otherwise displaceable to bridge the gap between the rear part and the windscreen. Fig. 8 shows the rear part of the hood comprising two parts 17, 18 hinged together and adapted to be folded down as shown in dotted lines. In another form the front and rear parts of the hood are separate and distinct, a separate portion being introduced to bridge the gap when the. rear portion is displaced rearwardly. Fig. 13 shows the rear portion carried by pivoted arms 37 and a rear panel 28 hinged as shown the boot of the body being provided with side pieces 9 displaceable to allow the rear part 2 to be swung into either position.
